As a student accommodation provider working across three states, Iglu is known for providing a safe and supportive environment for residents. Behind the scenes though, procurement was still a relatively new function for the business and Iglu needed a platform that could deliver visibility, consolidate suppliers, and reduce spend – all without adding complexity.
"Procurement is actually quite new to the Iglu business," said Angelica Kritharis, Contracts and Procurement Manager at Iglu. "I'm hoping to achieve a greater understanding of the business spend, streamline processes, and utilise tools to help us gauge a better understanding of where we're spending." Iglu partnered with Amazon Business because the B2B store’s features aligned with where the business was heading in terms of procurement and spend management. By consolidating different suppliers in one place, the team eliminated the complexity of managing multiple accounts and passwords.
"With the ease of single sign-on through Amazon Business, it just connects our system to Amazon. We don't have to create multiple passwords. It's just easy, efficient, and seamless," said Kritharis. Since adopting Amazon Business, Iglu has achieved 19% in savings over the last three months.
"We have access to Spend Visibility, and that's been really helpful, especially in the procurement space. I've been able to see what we spend on, and how we spend. It's just a really great snapshot that shows our savings as well. We've been able to achieve 19% of savings over the last three months, which has been great to see," said Kritharis. Amazon Business Analytics gives the team another layer of insight when comparing suppliers and products.
"They show you, which is the best value for money, and then we're able to make a decision based on what’s best for the business," said Kritharis.
"As Iglu continues to grow, we do feel as though Amazon Business will support us in our growth. Whether it's with our facility managers, our front desk staff, or student engagement and activities, it minimises the time spent [on procurement tasks], and they can focus on our warm hospitality and catering to our residents. It's a one-stop shop."
