Tuesday 11 August, 2026: Amazon has expanded Australia’s Prime Free Same-Day service with three new delivery windows for members in Sydney and Melbourne: overnight delivery, afternoon same-day delivery and evening same-day delivery. Prime Business members can receive orders in as little as 5 hours at no extra cost on eligible orders over $49.
The new windows mean Prime Business members can order from hundreds of thousands of products before clocking out (10pm) and have them waiting at the office door before 8am, order before breakfast and have it before leaving the office in the afternoon, or order at lunch and have it by the evening - giving business customers faster delivery speed, greater choice and more control over their deliveries.
The launch expands on Amazon’s existing Prime Free Same-Day service with shorter, more specific delivery windows on a huge selection of eligible products across categories including Business Essentials, electronics, kitchen and pantry, cleaning products, business books, and more.
To find items eligible for Prime Free Same-Day delivery, Prime Business members can look for items marked with Prime delivery and available delivery time slots on product detail pages on the Amazon Business website, including:
Arno Lenior, Director of Prime for Amazon Australia, said, "Speed and convenience have always been at the heart of our delivery investment in Australia. We're seeing more demand from customers for delivery options that fit around their lives, not the other way around.
“This is a step change in what Australians can expect from online delivery - and it comes at no extra cost for Prime members on eligible orders over $49."
"We designed these windows around real business needs – whether it's ordering last-minute essentials for an unexpected meeting before bed, and finding it at your workplace by morning, or grabbing a replacement supply of stationery products at lunch, and having them by evening. Business customers now have the speed, selection, and flexibility to shop on their own terms. We're continuing to invest heavily in our Australian delivery network, and our ambition is to bring this experience to more Prime Business members across the country.”
Lena Zak, Country Manager of Amazon Business Australia, said, "The launch of Amazon Business in 2025 means organisations of all sizes can benefit from the significant speed investments that Amazon has made in Australia, and we are delighted that Prime Business can now get the products they need to keep their businesses running delivered faster than ever. Whether it's discovering you need some last-minute essentials for an unexpected meeting before going to bed, and finding it at your workplace by morning, or grabbing a replacement supply of stationery products at lunch, and having them by evening. We have a range of Prime Business plans to suit the needs of any organisation, from sole traders and SMBs, all the way through to enterprises and government departments.”
Also launching for Prime and Prime Business members across the country is Amazon Day – a delivery option that lets customers choose a specific day of the week to receive all their eligible orders in a single delivery. Instead of receiving multiple packages across multiple days, Prime members can select their preferred Amazon Day during checkout, and have their orders grouped together and delivered on that chosen day.
Amazon Day gives businesses more control over when packages arrive, making it easier to plan around workplace schedules. It also means easier management for mail rooms, and of course less packaging, as items are consolidated into fewer shipments. Prime members can change their selected Amazon Day at any time in their delivery settings, while also updating their preferred Business Hours.
Amazon now offers free same-day or faster delivery to Prime Business members in more locations than ever across Australia – all on eligible orders over $49. Sydney and Melbourne Prime members have access to overnight delivery and expanded delivery windows, while Prime members in Perth, Canberra, Geelong, the Central Coast, Newcastle, and the Hunter region can order as late as 11am for same-day delivery before 10pm. One-day delivery is available in 12 locations nationally, and Prime Business members in all other eligible locations benefit from free delivery in as fast as two days.
Amazon Australia aims to expand product selection, delivery areas, and delivery speed options to provide more Australian Prime and Prime Business members access to even more products, faster. Since 2011, Amazon has invested more than $35 billion across all its businesses in Australia, including investments that continue improving the delivery experience for customers. Between 2024 and 2027, Amazon Australia will have invested $1.6 billion opening five new operational sites, creating an additional 4,500 jobs once fully operational. Amazon Australia now has eight fulfilment centres and 12 logistics sites.
Same-Day and Overnight Delivery also benefit selling partners by getting their products into the hands of customers faster. All products enrolled in Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) are eligible for Prime delivery, meaning selling partners in the program may see their products delivered to Prime and Prime Business members in Sydney and Melbourne the very same day – or overnight.
Prime Business is a membership program for Amazon Business customers. There are five plan options designed to fit organisations of varying sizes and needs – from small business owners to large-scale enterprises. Members can benefit from fast, free delivery on eligible items. On larger plans, they can take advantage of enhancements to tools like Guided Buying, that help steer employees toward preferred purchasing behaviour, or Spend Visibility tools, helping make smart budgeting decisions by analysing your team’s spend with data visualisations that help you locate compliance issues and ways to save in the future.
